Zimmerit kit from Eduard and painted with Tamiya paint. A few chips here and there to beat it up a bit. Loads of weather...

I didn't imagine that Eduard's photoetched zimmerit would turn out so well,
great work,
congratulations!

Mr James
Thanks so much Pietro, It was the best that I could do with it. I wouldnt use it again. The primer I used came off with the lightest of touches and I think its quite 2D looking. Also, it's very hard to show damage on the zimmerit, I think Meng's rubber type decals are better or the putty and knife approach. We live and learn. 🙂

John
Nice job on this classic old Tamiya. 👍

Doubtingmango
Wow! I did that kit about two years ago. There's a lot wrong with it, but I don't see any of those flaws in your build.
21 June 2023, 18:36
Mr James
Thanks John. This old classic has been pimped up a bit so far.
21 June 2023, 20:21
Mr James
Cheers DoubtingMango. You're not wrong about the flaws. It has quite a few. There's a lot of bits out of the spares bin to make it presentable. The tracks are just horrid and so I'm half way through assembling Bronco after market ones. They are nicely detailed but a complete arse to fix together 🙁

Guy Rump
You've done an excellent job on this so far, the zimmerit is outstanding. Looking forward to completion. 👍

Mr James
Cheers Guy. Thanks for saying so. As I said before, I wouldnt use it again or really recommend it. Decals would have been better.

Cheers Conner, glad you liked it

So realistic - all you have to do it snap a few pictures of it outside and it would probably be mistakened for the real thing!
27 July 2023, 14:13
Mr James
Thanks for saying so Capt, I'll have some new pics when I get round to it. 🙂

Thankyou for your kind words, Saeed and Fritz.

Knowing how problematic the Eduard Zimmerit can be, the work is superb, especially on the front glacis plate. I agree with you that it is very 2D, noticeable on the turret sides etc.

David Taylor
Nice.
25 August 2023, 06:39
Mr James
Thanks again Stephen. I tried to get the best out of it. As I said, last time I use it.

Carlos Cisneros
Woh! That is the classic 1970's Tamiya Panther A?! Superb job!
25 February, 22:26
Mr James
Ha yes. Thanks Carlos... I paid £11.00 each for two kits, a bargain 🙂 I've pimped this one up a bit with some questionable Zimmerit and bits from my spares box. The other one I'm planning to set fire to, when I acquire the skills to do so.

Carlos Cisneros
Nice! I have one that I got at a club auction for $1, with a bunch of extras, so I have a similar project in mind for it one day. Lots of scratch work to fill the empty spaces, but lots of fun too!
25 February, 23:43
Mr James
1$ is a proper bargain 🙂 Yeah, it's a lot of work filling in gaps, drilling out exhausts, tracks, it goes on and on... 🙂

Ade
Mate, that is superb! Where'd you get the engine grills?
12 March, 23:30
Mr James
I think they were Eduards TP002. £3 ish...
12 March, 23:47
Mr James
Oh and thanks by the way. 🙂
