This is a nice & colorful Me-262! Bravo!
I NEED to pick up an Academy kit to go with my own Pro-Modeler kit. A gent in France did me a favor by picking up a set of ABT Decals over at Modelers Heaven, that supposedly depicted a Me-262 in Adolf Galland's markings, complete with his customary Mickey Mouse on the side but in a white circle. He mailed it to me from France rather than my having to spend some ungodly amount for UPS shipping from Modelers Heaven.
Apparently, this aircraft was described in an article published in Summer of 1977, though it is most likely spurious. I'll pair it with some aftermarket wheels & PART PE. The Academy kit I'd like to do as White 3 of JV44, which Gen. Lt. Galland was confirmed to have flown. Since I've also got the IBG Fw-190D-9 & Fw-190D-11 to build for their airstrip guard unit; They'll make for an interesting quartet!

I think it would be better if you build more and buy less! I thought my stash was unwieldy! 🫨😬

Haha! I just group my kits together as "projects" rather than collections. I keep the "collections" as conflicts those aircraft were involved in. I will admit that my building has slowed down since 2023 & I'm getting a backlog of models that are set & ready to go. That said I only have an hour or two in the mid-AM & about the same in the early AM if I don't mind being exhausted all day.
The reason ... I guess could be summarized as this; I'm a coward. My son was blinded by C19 last year. He was turning out to be as prolific of a builder than I was at his age & yet he went to bed early evening on February 13th with 20/20 vision (though red/green color blind) & awoke late afternoon on Valentine's Day unable to see anything. This wasn't like what a lot of young folk reported though, temporary blindness that passed in a couple weeks, this was swelling in his eyes that starved both his retina of oxygen. He did eventually gain some vision back but it's still really bad. His vision is bad enough to be considered legally blind twice over. It is as though he suffers from an advanced case of macular degeneration. It's a rare enough side effect that one of the leading medical research facilities in the United States wants to do a case study on him.
I'm sure you wonder what that has to do with my building & being a coward, well, it's like this: I build when he's asleep. He hasn't asked to build together since that fateful day in February of 2023 & honestly I'm afraid to ask him to join me as well. He insists that he hasn't given up on building but he cannot even read large print text let alone an instruction sheet. The other day he signed something at our bank & missed the signature line entirely. Your average 1/72 kit has parts smaller than the words "Sign Here:" I'm afraid of the look & what will go through his mind when he finally realizes he can't build in this scale anymore & likely won't be able to build his newer & more advanced 1/35 scale AFVs either.
I COULD build them for him the way my father did for me when I was still in early elementary school but I know it's nowhere near the same. Furthermore my builds were kept completely separate from his. That means there are many duplicates & a wide assortment of outdated kits which were originally passed from me to him.
Anyway, I've got several projects or portions of projects that I have been working on OR have waiting in the wings. Unfortunately I cannot prove this to anyone until my sister decides to make the journey from her home four hours to the South-East up to my home. Our household is cellular free & the camera resolution quality on the two Chromebooks in the house are inferior to the old cardboard & plastic 35 mm cameras.

The fourth and last model of my small Fw 190 series is this Fw 190 A-7, which was also finished yesterday. The model was build oob and also painted with colours from Gunze and Tamiya.

Thanks, Appreciate the interest, lm reality new to the hobby about 14 months, finding my way with techniques.
Weathering n panel lines need more learning.
The IAR-80 was decent price from HB and liked the paint scheme...bit different

Thanks J35.
Nice to have the interest, HB instructions bit weak!
They said to paint interior charcoal black like on the FW-190.
But l checked n the Romanian lAR interior was grey/blue.
Engine building next 6 parts deal.
Cheers 😃👍

Good to have you along Miguel, engine n wings next,
A small amount of the wing is seen through bottom of cockpit, the HB instructions didn't mention painting it first!!
But the fit of the model be ok so far.

Love the idea of filling with acrylic, never thought about it. Does it hold well though time?

Hi, Yes lve used it alot and holds up really well , l find the fillers a bit messy and more trouble than it's worth on small gaps.
You do need to allow overnight drying with it for best sanding results.

Brilliant! The putty really can create a mess with finely molded details

Yes it has a habit of filling in panel lines n bits not necessary!!
This technique is same as using alot of paint to fill a gap or high build primer ect...just becomes part of the paint layer as it acrylic too.
But it's not for big gaps!! As there is a bit of shrinking overnight.
Be onto marking rivets next step after sanding... Then need to make choices on open or closed canopy???

If anyone dare look away from that then every romanian within a 20 km radius will undo all your progress like a bunch of wolves eating a sheep

Thanks Miguel, the pen needs a good shake prior to use , if it awkward area you can pump some out n use brush...but work fast.
Best to put a clear over next day as it's bit delicate.

Do not forget that the mast of the antenna passes through the windshield and is very clearly visible. This model may come in handy in my albums

Ok thanks Alexander, HB didnt make the Mast installation very clear, the show it just glued on the top, will be very weak!! I've seen one build and it's come away!!
I'm going to use steel rod.

Hi Trez 👋
Yes they were heavily influenced by German technology, the Germans wanted them to help support on the eastern front and protect the oilfields there.
It's a nice looking Aircraft, l liked the colour scheme and thought it be nice change n addition to my collection.
Canopy a nice easy mask.
