Using my 1-2-3 blocks to square up the chassis rails.
Test fitting the engine/trans.

New KFS disc brake conversion

This part was either lost or never included in the kit. But it is not correct for this truck, so I found an alternative
This part is included but is suggested not to be used
Cutting the front header panel off of the roof liner
Installing the new header panel to the roof liner
Adding filler pieces
Very close to the real thing
KFS wheels/hubs need minor modification and cleaning to fit well
First the mounting surface of the disc brakes needs to be filed down slightly...
Then the exposed screw heads from the casting process must be chiseled and filed away
Preassembly and test fitting the air shield supports
Front bumper subassembly complete
Lots of parts ready for painting
All the main chassis components are painted and ready for assembly and detailing
KFS wheels painted in grey metallic
Front grill shot in black gloss.
Lots of other components painted and ready for detailing and assembly.
Minor fumble with the decals...
...but I was able to remedy it.
Clear coat and polished
Doing some chrome work
Permanent marker used to trim out all the clear parts.
Front bumper ready to install
Glue used to install clear parts.
Goes on white and thin like Elmers glue.
Dries clear and very tacky.
With the glass installed.
Installing interior with epoxy.
Installing front bumper with epoxy.
Mounting the rear portion with medium CA.
One last test fit. Before permanent mounting, I will do some detail painting and weathering on the chassis.

Hi Ben! Interesting pictures of the build and very nice result! Until now I always painted the fully assembled chassis as one part. Will use your approach for my next build. Looking forward to your next builds in 2024! Cheers, André
