[Revell] Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Coupe (WIP)

Album image #1
Washed

Album image #2
Trimming and categorized by color.

Album image #3
This kit has several shrunken molds.

Album image #4
The cover is designed to open and close, but it does not close properly, so after attaching tape to secure it...

Album image #5
Put it in the dish dryer for a day, it will be properly fixed like this.

Album image #6
It was time to paint black, so I masked off the windshield to paint it as well.

Album image #7
Black surfacer.

Album image #8
then, painted body colors.

Album image #9
and then, The spokes of the wheel were lightly masked and the rim was painted chrome.

Album image #10
I belatedly screwed a deep hole in the muffler.

Album image #11
Now I painted the remaining secondary colors.

Album image #12
1st. clear coat was applied.

Album image #13
When applying a clear coat over a metallic color, you must be careful not to paint too richly.

Album image #14
If you zoom in like this, you can easily see the difference between the two.
L: heavily coated, R: lightly coated
PS: As the metallic particles become rougher, the color changes slightly.
Therefore, as shown on the right, it is better to lightly coat it first, dry it until it becomes crispy, and then apply an additional heavy coat.

Album image #15
The gear stick looked a bit clunky, so I cut it off and modified it by transplanting a clothes-pin.

Album image #16
This is how dangerous the hobby of models is. 😉

Album image #17
The manual says to paint it clear red, but when I looked up pictures of the actual car, it seemed like the transparency was slightly different.
So, first I painted clear red and then partially masked it...

Album image #18
I lightly covered the white color from the inside.

Album image #19
I shaved off the original mold to apply the 3D decals that were recently released for this kit.

Album image #20
I thought a lot about what color to paint the interior.
I chose a yellow interior for the silver car and a red interior for the black car.

Album image #21
I took another shot during the day and corrected the colors to match what the eye sees in real life.
I think I got the colors just right. 🙂

Album image #22
Painted with brush.

Album image #23
Cleaned up the surface for glossy.

Album image #24
I got greedy and the paint came off.

Album image #25
Anyway, polishing done.

Album image #26
I swapped them for fun.

Album image #27
This is the last masking.

Album image #28
I painted a black surfacer instead of matte black.

Album image #29
It looks like it was masked incorrectly.

Album image #30
Repaired.

Album image #31
Ready to assemble.

Album image #32
Applied Quinta Studio - 3D decal.
The quality is very good, but given the price, I think it would be more efficient to use it on a car with an open roof.

Album image #33
There's nothing special about the assembly, just follow the instructions.

Album image #34
The brake discs are not chrome paint, but a regular metallic paint called IPP's Metallic Silver.
If you can get your hands on this inexpensive, quality paint, I highly recommend it.

Album image #35
I was surprised at how well the parts fit together, unlike some of the older level products.

Album image #36
Originally, I thought the Rebel kit was fun to assemble the internal parts, but I was very satisfied with the improved fitting. 🙂

Album image #37
Next I need to assemble the cabin, so I pre-assembled these first.

Album image #38
Since the seats are shaped differently on the left and right, you will need to attach them to fit the driver/passenger seat.

Album image #39
Assembled interior.

Album image #40
I decided to place the colors like this

Album image #41
I used Hasegawa Mirror Sheet and Morotow Liquid Chrome.
I recommend AK Chrome, which is a quarter of the price of Morotow.

Album image #42
Assembled front/rear lamps.

Album image #43
Afterwards, the remaining parts were simply assembled according to the instructions, and finally, metal stickers and a three-dimensional emblem were attached.

Album image #44
Done.

Album image #45
Thanks for watching 🙂

Album image #46
Oh, This point was roughly done with a marker pen. 😉

Sir, may I ask how the fit is? I have this kit on deck and am a little concerned because of the manufacturer.

I think, it's not as perfect as the lately Japanese kits and fits similarly to NuNu and Belkits.
But the rear cowl will need to be modified anyway. (#4, #5 images)

This both kits are the new Revell kit? It's kind of funny that you grabbed two different colors of styrene. In Germany they all are silver. Sadly, I see the sinkholes on the c-pillar too.
What surface and chrome did you take? The chrome looks great. Your color choice is nice. I'm interessted how (I think) the silverish looks with this red interior and the black one with the yellow. I think this will be the combination you're aiming to.
From our experience, the kit fits pretty good.

Thanks Jv.
@Christan W: Yes, this is a new kit. I was planning on making just one, but I received a small box as a gift, so I ended up making two at the same time.
Other than the fact that there are many sinkholes in the body and the engine room cover does not fit properly, so it needs to be fixed, this kit is recommended because of the excellent details, proportions, and good fitting between parts.
The wheels were painted Gaianotes-Black Surfacer > GSI-Ueno Black > More Modeling - MOMO CHROME (shining).
