Agreed, the panels look really good. Makes me want to repaint my Venator.

Thanks Garreth and Markus. I only preshaded the most prominent panellines with a medium gray color. For the majority of the panels I used the primer ( mr.Surfacer 1200) as prehading color. Each panel is seperately airbrushed begining at the center of the panels with a very light gray. For the bright panels I added one drop white and masked the panels before airbrushing them. For the colorized panes I added some olive drab or brown into the light grey base color and applied the high dilluted color in different layers with a brush.

So the fibres are just so you can use fewer LEDs? Also are those premade chips for effects or some type of nano arduino? Not that advanced with electronics yet. I cheat where I can so this is very interesting for me to see how it's done. 🙂

@ Markus: Youre right, the fibres limit the number of LED´s and the small fibres enable to create small dots of illumination like at the turbo lasers . The small IC´s are responsible for flickering and the others at the large bord provide constant current of 20 mA like an electronic pre resitor. Iam not sure if they are really needed but after some try and error they helped to avoid damaged LED´s. I tried to keep it simple because I am also not that familiar with electronics. Power source is a battery pack with 3x1,5V=4,5V batteries and everything is connectet parallel so that each part gets the same voltage.

the small fibres were obvious to me, just unsure about the big ones, but that's not a bad idea at all. You can trick so much with electronics. I recently got some LED remotes off ebay for like 2€ each and while I wasn't sure they'd work at all, it turns out they're not only capable of dimming the LEDs, but also come with a bunch of premade effects that you can even adjust the speed of. I was very impressed with them.

Finished! Unfortunately it turned out after final assembly that the LED´s of the bridge illumination did not work anymore. I was able to replace only one of them. So the effect is now not as it was originally.

Oh I hate it when that happens. Had a Bandai Slave-1 where I tore cables like 5 times. Still haven't fixed it xD Anyways, awesome build, like I said on FB, the lighting effects are something else! Love it!

@ Markus: You can imagine that I was really p.... off and dissapointed because all the invested time and work was for nothing.
