Thank you, mates!
Alec, correct deduction 👍 I see that you are not only a great modeler, but also an experienced detective 😄
Just to clarify, I will not build the new edition in 1:72 scale, but the 1:48 kit, which I have had in my stash for some time.

Nice metal finish 👌.
Glad you showed paints,
I'm struggling to find a good white paint that doesn't need a stupid amount of coats to look white... Any recommendations from anyone be appreciated.
Smart Mustang scheme 👍

I agree with Jakob, Tamiya LP white is much easier for me to use. Another trick is to black base the part first, and then lightly coat on the white. For some odd reason, it's easier for me to avoid over-spraying white on that.

Mr Surfacer 1500 White is also a good option if you need a white "paint" with high coverage.
You can polish it afterwards or layer a coat of regular white paint if need be.
Being 1500, it's pretty smooth anyway.
Great mustang, Jakub. I'm looking forward to see it done 🙂

Well, since I'm also building a p-51 (different molds), I can only say that I have still to learn and practice a lot 🙂

Dík, Máro! V pondělí ho dotáhnu na klub. Stojím před velkým dilematem a budu potřebovat hromadnou konzultaci 😄

Thank you, Sergej!
There is no coat over any color. The silver color on wings (LP-11) is polished, Alclads are untouched. I hope no varnish is needed. But i will see after decals....

The decals do look stunning! Did you encounter any issues with setting solutions on the bare NMF parts?

Thank you, Patrick. Luckily, no problem occurred with the setting solutions. But the decals are not fully set in panel lines yet. Photos are taken immediately after applying the decals. It is not visible on pictures, but there is still a lot of work to do.

wow, fantastic job. Alclad still looks fantastic after all the decals, detal setting weathering etc, simply perfect. and no clear varnish, amazing.

I totally agree with Spanjaard! The finish looks immaculate! Good to know that Alclad can withstand a beating.

Thank you very much, mates! I'm really happy, that you like it. Of course, the quality of this kit is not the same as the new Arma hobby or Eduard kits, but finally, it looks like a Mustang 🙂
To Spanjaard and Patrick: yes, Alclads are very good. But be careful, not all Alclads are the same. For example polished aluminium or airframe aluminium ( which i used for external tanks) are not resistant to weathering agents and need to be varnished! I also had to overspray decals on the fuselage with Tamiya LP- 24 semi gloss clear, because thare were visible edges of decals. But that's not a problem of alclad, it's a problem of decals.

thanks a lot for the info Jakub, I was wondering what I did wrong in my own P-51.... I guess my only error was to use airframe aluminium in most of the airplane 😄 😄
well, I believe it was my first use of Alclad 😉
