Great work on the stripes 😮 A pretty nice idea on a Mercedes. The effect with the clear cote comes somehow semi gloss. But nevertheless: sweet!

Agree too! Less chrome on it is not that bad anyway. I like the color. Well built!

Is it possible to aply the decals afterwards? On my Freightliner it will be a bigge issue because of all that handlebars on the cabin and sleeper.

looong time ago, this Mercedes was finished - but i has forgot to finish the WIP.
Last things on it was gluing the windshield in place and marriage the whole model. Because of dozens test-fitting during the build, it runs like water 😉
Had no issues and with all precision, i finished the model without and gluetabs of fingerprints! hurrah!

And here it is.
Decals were missing, so i was free to buid it. If i will struggle over a decal sheet, i even will buy it...
Why is this truck my kind of "never will build it again"?
I thought, with my scills it will be fine to make it. It was hard...the frame had some non-fixing-points, the sleeper needed a lot of sanding because of sad fitting. the hinges from the hood are not able do be fitting the hood and because of the "bumper", the hood is not funktional. this "Bumper" had dozens of moldinglines were you can see them.
All chrome parts were dechromed, glued together, sanded and painted new.
At least, the mirrors and antenna-stufff are a pain in the a55 to mount - and if it is a real truck, you couldn't open the doors if they are mounted this way on the real deal.

At the end, the truck is on the wheels and in the cabin. Done!

It is a Dodge Monaco. That is sure I think. It's hard to tell, which kit it is. But on the other hand it doesn't matter at all. If the wheels came out of the box how they are, you'd tell, what kit it is.
It is a super idea, to build a civilian police car. Did you know, that I have the Gotham City police car in my shelf?
Before I forget: The color is pretty good to the undercover cop car 😄
