This is the vintage Monogram kit from the 1970's re-issued by Revell. It was an easy build and still makes into a great kit. OOB the kit builds into the F8F-1b model which was armed with 4 x 20mm cannon. I removed 20mm gun barrels to back date to the .50 cal armed model. I also plugged the see-through front wing edge intakes. I used Starfighter decals to mark the plane as an aircraft fo Vf-31 in 1946. VF-31 was one of the first fighter squadrons to equip with the Bearcat. VF-31 flew Bearcats until they re-equiped with F9F Panthers in 1948.
