Ford Escort RS 1600 GR2 - Coupes de Spa 1971 - Reference pics
The resin body has been cleaned up and the parts which were cast in one piece have been cut off (door handles, tail lights, front radiator and headlights,...)
I also made the rear fender wider and lower, and I drilled out a hole for the fuel cap.
The simple interior received a safety roll cage and a hand brake. The rear seat was there in the real car as well!
Then I sprayed the body yellow and I did a dry fit of the interior. Later on the car will be partially sprayed BP green.
Once the yellow paint dried, I masked the car with BMF and Maskol.
Next I sprayed the green areas.
As soon as the green paint was dry, I removed the masks and I polished the model to get rid of the glue marks.
Next I fixed the decals in place. Most of them were designed on my computer and printed by a friend of mine.
Once the decals were in place, I clearcoated the whole body.
After a week the clearcoat is dry. Next I finish the simple interior and I fix it to the body, together with the wheels.
I paint the window frames flat black.
I added some radiator-like decals to the rear of the Ford.
Now the time has come to add the finishing touch details.
