The cannons are the Master ones, if you want them to last and have a perfect shape, is a must-to-have
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/6/7/9/167679-16302-35-720.jpg)
The mirror in the top of the canopy cames from Italeri kit, there are 2 tipes of them over there, so I used the spare one from a version that I will not build

The aerial cable are from coper wire 0,05 found in one eletric repair store, but i think I should had painted with one lighter shade, one dark gray instead of the black, could had looked not so strong...

Closer look to the exaust stains and chipping effect, the pigments used are from Tamiya weathering master, sets A and B
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/6/8/5/167685-16302-66-720.jpg)

![Album image #32 Album image #32](/albums/img/6/9/4/167694-16302-37-720.jpg)
The canopy is not briliang and it´s thikness and magnifying efect hide the interior detail, and it can´t be displayed opened, so it is pointless to use photoetch
![Album image #33 Album image #33](/albums/img/6/9/5/167695-16302-56-720.jpg)
The light under the wing was just one empty hole, after paint it I cuted and shaped one small acetate in that place. the downside of this kit though is the misshape of this area, were is the distinctive "inverted gull wing" Revell?
![Album image #34 Album image #34](/albums/img/6/9/6/167696-16302-81-720.jpg)
The decals responded very well to Revell setting solution and looks like painted in the complicaded surface, no bubles and all rivets are there, thumbs up for Revell

The shape of the intakes doesn´t look very accurate in the Revell kit, but I´ll live with this one, soon I will do the Italeri one that looks more realistic, And by the way, they have the inverted gull wing...

hi Gordon, thanks a lot, I am building this OOB (the only change was the cannon of Spitfire that is metal). I will do the markings that came with the kits, the Hurricane I am painting using only Revell aqua color (exatly the ones in the manual) and the spitfire I am using Tamiya, they have the same painting so this is one experiment to see the diferences in using bough, I will be uploading pics from the Hurricane soon.

Excellent build and paintjob ! I like the subtle weathering as well. What did you use for masking the yellow stripes at the leading edge ?
I use Tamiya tape, but it always turns out slightly " jagged " in 72nd .

Hi people! Thanks for the kind comments!, Hanno, I used exactly the Tamiya tape, in this scale you have to be very careful, I cutted the tape's edge to be sure there will be no glue or dust on the way but just a fresh and tight edge, and I paited using Tamiya acrylic diluted in 50/50 mix, very thin and light layers, drying off them so there's no floading paint running along the tape like a wash, after remove the tape, I sanded off a bit of the step with a 1500 grade sanding paper and buffed the area a bit, I was fortunate that the XF-3 is a very close match to the decal's rondel, in the hurricane I didn't checked this out and they doesn't match at all :-/
