I also had this kit but decided to hand it to the children after comparing it with the Hasegawa one.
I would say good work on an old kit!

I know model finishing is not perfect, but to me it was something as I performed the following practices for the first time on this model:
1. Painting with airbrush - a cheap one I obtained as starter airbrush,
2. Filling gaps - using Tamiya Putty Paste,
3. Nonlinear assembly, I jumped steps and returned back as needed to achieve easier painting with less damage to smaller parts or painted surfaces.
The Kit:
Was opened by prev. owner and used for spare parts, seat and decals are missing. Got it for $6.00 only.
Note: Although the default build is the demo 'Blue Angels' F-18, the kit offer extra parts, extra engine nozzles, and weapon load to replicate the exact plane of Scott Speicher's F/A-18 making it a great kit to build (extra parts not mentioned in instructions), see more:
