Dome S101 Racing for Holland, Le Mans 2001
Split the front splitter from the rest to allow easier construction.
Started thinning the edges.
Same thing as previous pic, thinning the edges.
Opening air vents. Not done yet, needs to be cleaned up and repaired on a couple of spots.
More thinning of the resin.
Build up of the diffuser. Parts are kept in place with actual rivets (see green arrows)
Rebuild of the shifter.
Front splitter covered with CF which was then polished until a nice semi-matt finish was achieved.
Left hand side of the cockpit was finished as well. Also note the CF treatment to the cockpit.
Body was given a coat of black, followed by a clearcoat. It was then polished to get a nice shiny finish for the decals.
First decals put on the body. So far so good.
Decals, decals, decals....and more decals!
Decals, decals, decals....and more decals!
Almost done with the black-and-white....
All decals are on the body!!
Rear wing decalled! All the big decals are now done! 🙂
Cockpit interior was finished as well.
white-metal exhausts were replaced by hollow tubes (already painted here).
Brake discs and calipers painted and ready for putting on the car.
Finished!

Finally a bit more progress to show. Sadly the pictures I made were lost when the CF card died on my... it also took all the pictures of the first free practice session for this years Le Mans 24 hours 🙁

ouch 🤔! The decal job so far looks amazing. I'm sure this is not the easiest decal session in your modeling career 🙂

Not the easiest, but so far the Ken Block Fiesta isn't beaten in terms of difficulty 😉

Well, most of the black and white's are on, just the ones over the louvres over the front wheels to go (and the rear-wing, but that's for later). After that I can put the red-white-blue stpring, race-nummers, etc on.

All the decals are now on the body! Only the rear-wing to do, but that should be a breeze compared to the body 😉
