First I clean up the whitemetal bodyparts and a polish them. I also drill out all the necessary holes.
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/0/2/4/265024-10911-27-720.jpg)
Next I assemble the photo-etched front- and rear wings.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/0/2/5/265025-10911-93-720.jpg)
Next I fix the photo-etched suspension arms to check the fixing points.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/0/2/6/265026-10911-83-720.jpg)
All the suspension arms are dry fitted to the body - looking good. I also assemble the machine-turned wheels and rubber tires.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/0/2/7/265027-10911-12-720.jpg)
So far, so good. Now let's concentrate to the brakes.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/2/0/4/267204-10911-30-720.jpg)
But first I put the body in grey primer to check for irregularities. Next I spray some areas of the body with TS-26 Pure White, because the decal sheet doesn't provide in those white areas.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/2/0/5/267205-10911-70-720.jpg)
Next I mask the white areas after which I spray the whole body with "Fiat 497 Cannes Blue", which I ordered specially for this build.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/2/0/6/267206-10911-28-720.jpg)
Once the blue paint is dry, I start to apply the first white decals. The red lining is printed on the decals. The front wing is painted in black.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/2/0/7/267207-10911-62-720.jpg)
I let the white decals dry for 24 hours, and ten I apply the sponsor decals on top of them.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/2/0/8/267208-10911-94-720.jpg)
I had to use quite a lot of decal solution to get them into shape, and I even had to use the hair-dryer, but in the end it all turned out well.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/2/0/9/267209-10911-11-720.jpg)
I also sprayed the front wing end plates exteriors with the same Fiat Blue (as well as the rear end plates - not visible here), after which I apllied the front wing decals. Finally I painted the black paint where needed manually.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/7/4/4/269744-10911-93-720.jpg)
Next the body received 2 clearcoats, after which I let it dry for about a week. Now I fixed the front wings and the suspension arms. I also prepared the wheels and tires by sanding the surfaces and fixing the tire decals.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/7/4/5/269745-10911-75-720.jpg)
Once the suspension is fixed I concentrated on the interior, which was painted and installed. The front wing was partly given a flat coat, and the wheels were attached. Now I can fix the car safely to a firm base plate.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/7/4/6/269746-10911-48-720.jpg)
At this time I can give the body a final polish, because I don't have to touch it anymore with my greasy fingers. I can also fix all the small details now without any risk of ruining the car's body (or at least with minimum risk).

Close-up of the cockpit. You can see the steering wheels and the gear shifting rod, as well as the fire extinguisher and part of the seat belts.

Top shot from the cockpit: you see the seat belts and the seat here.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/7/4/9/269749-10911-79-720.jpg)
Still missing on the car: the rear wing. I sprayed it flat black first, next I masked the end plates to spray them blue. But I got some overspray, so I'll have to to the flat black again. But first the end plates clearcoat has to dry.
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/6/6/5/270665-10911-89-720.jpg)
Meanwhile the tierods were fixed, as well as the antenna, the mirrors, and the tire stickers. Finally I masked the end plates with Maskol, I re-sprayed the flat black rear wing and decalled it, and I fixed it to the car's gear box. Job's done 😉

The Ligier JS37 is the F1 car I want to replicate in 1:43 scale. Let's hope it turns out well 😉
