looking good. all those bright colors look really nice.
i would have maybe replaced the tools with photo etched ones ... i saw a review of a metal tool box with tools that would be perfect for this project if they do the right scale (i think it was 1:35).

Thanks Spanjaard,
Yea, I saw those too, Kerry's I believe, they are pretty cool. 35th would a bit too small I think. I know I have seen more in some of the other kits I have. I'll get to them eventually! Maybe they make 1/24/25 sets too, I haven't looked yet. Ill get a few more pics in as it looks now with some cars in it.

Not my scale or my subject, but I think I could be easily pushed over the edge! That is a real 'world in miniature' you are putting together there Robert - really great stuff! 🙂 👍

Thanks guys,
That's what I did when I was younger, worked on cars, and I had a LOT of them.
It did take some time to build all that little garage equipment (2 kits). I built the garages last winter, when it's too cold to do much painting. I plan to build 3 more of the upper level "parking garages" this winter for the shelf above. They hold 16-18 cars per level, so that's 54 max there. That should be enough to hold all of "MY CARS" plus some "favorites", family cars, etc.
There is one more top shelf available above after that, enough for 4 more levels. Not sure where I'll put the rest after that. There's probably 175 car & truck kits in my closet! LOL
A lot of them I'm hoping my grandson will take over.

WOW, those are freekin' cool! I like the Aoshima box. A bit pricey, but cool. More "Stuff" for the wish list. Thanks Spanjaard. PE tools would be nicer, the plastic ones break too easy, although they are more 3 dimensional, but for just wrenches would be nice.

Loving this thread except for the fact that it reminds me that not one single Australian car is represented by a kit. Paul Keating was right this is a banana republic

That does suck Wilky ! lol shame on them! AH ! 1 I can think of: the Mad Max car. Is that Australian?

Yes, XB FALCON. I have only seen that kit once and I've never owned that Mad Max Interceptor. I did repaint an XA FALCON sedan as the yellow, red, white and blue MFP Interceptor that is seen chasing the MFP HQ MONARO the Knight Rider is driving in the first part of the movie. That's the original movie not the rubbish rehash of a couple of years ago.
A copper that pulled me over for doing a burnout once asked me if I was a "clown" because I was driving a clown car according to him.
I wish I still had that car, might be worth a quarter million now

Yea, that last movie disappointed me. The first 2 were the best, Mad Max was my favorite, Thunderdome was good. I do have the Mad Max (Road Warrior) Interceptor on my wish list, but it's ridiculously overpriced ($175)!!. It'll be a cold day in hell before I buy that one! Cool story wilky, lol

Album info

Well, the whole idea of getting back to modeling was to do models of all the cars I've had. Everything just kinda fell in later. I started with the airplanes mostly to scrape off my rusty skills & learn how to use an airbrush (didn't have one back in the days).
I've been saving the better kits till I get confident with my painting. So by this point (a year or so ago) I figured I needed to start doing some cars. Putting a flat coat of paint on an a WWII airplane is altogether different than putting a nice gloss coat on a car. So about August of last year (2015) I started practicing with cars.
The garage didn't get built until March of 16, but I thought I'd out it up now.
The next model post will be my first attempt at a car
