Thanks guys it's almost done just fix the broken tail wheel, find a lost aerial and some paint touch ups. I liked the Borneo scheme. My Uh.5 will be Falklands green.

Great job with suburb attention to detail. I would only make one comment, having spent 5 years working with these birds, the finish is too matt. It should have a more shinier finish.

Dave Morris - was that the case for the 1960s versions as in this case or later versions? Or do you reckon they all were slightly shiny?

Alistair, In all my time in the RAF I have never seen a fixed or rotary a/c with a truly flat finish. All have a shine to them.

Ok I'll apply a satin finish since I feel high gloss will not look good in scale. May have to put the 0.15mm needle in to get close to the window since I'm afraid trying to mask it will break the now attached rotor blades.

could you gentle polish it with a cotton bud. q-tip etc. and a gentle wax to buff in a modest shine ?
might look quite good if one did it per panel at a time
anyhow would save on masking 🙂

I'm sure to break either the fishing line aerials or the rotor blades cradle if i venture near it with a cotton bud but thats an interesting idea, thanks
