Used sheet styrene to fit doors flush, kit parts sat too low
Drilled hole for missing exhaust port
Styrene tube fitted into hole- Evergreen Styrene tubing
Styrene tube sanded down to shape
Filled gaps on tail with scrap sheet styrene
Intakes on and added exhaust pipe
Vertical stabs and intakes on
Vertical stabs on, rear view
Speed brakes added- used leftover F4U flaps cut down to fit properly
Inlet scoop added using appropriate sized part from my spares bin sanded to proper shape.

Primer on
Vallejo Model Air Neutral Gray FS36270 on underside. First time using this line of paint and I’m very pleased with it.
Vallejo Model Air Gunship Gray FS36118 on upper surfaces
Touch up of paint around the leading edges
Gloss coat on
Decals on
Canopy hood separation line scribed into canopy. Kit part was a single piece, while the real aircraft has a separate windscreen and side opening canopy hood

Masking for framing applied, and putty to remove step in front of canopy
Step removed
Frame on with layers on primer and paint

Bought this kit many years ago... now living near Luke AFB and seeing these babies fly overhead almost every day... I could not hold off building one any longer... going back to my old locale and Edwards AFB visits...

I have written small captions with each photo giving a brief comment on each one. Are the comments not showing up?
Yes, I drilled a hole for the side exhaust vent. I used some Evergreen tube styrene to make the pipe and sanded it to proper shape.
