Stunning finish. I guess imposing and darkly menacing was their intention.

Yeap, I think that was the intention as all Federal police vehicles and aircraft were painted in that very dark blue scheme. Thing is, the Federal police was turned into the National Guard by the current government and of course the scheme was changed into a horrible combination of grey and white which I refuse to reproduce.... So, the sinister scheme is now history.

Wonderful finish Luis. There's something deliciously ironic about this dark, menacing beast resting on your domestic red-check table cloth 🙂

Thank you guys! Jajaja!, I don´t have a particular set up for my photos, so I jus place them on any table around and snap it. Maybe I should work on a 1/144 tarmac to pose these airliners turned military transports...

Thanks mate! Those airframes were repainted but still continue providing tactical and cargo support to the National Guard...

Would you recommend the Minicraft kit? There is not much to choose from concerning the 727. Is it any good?

Well, the Minicraft 727 series is a rather simple build and lacks details such as antennas, lights and interiors (not that you can see much in 1/144 anyway!). I didn't like the panel lines which appear too deep and thick for the scale but the fit is decent, although I had my issues with the wing-fuselage joint. No windows!!! Because this particular version was refurbished for Federal Police use in real life, I had to use an aftermarket resin set of "hush puppies" engines that was a real pain to put together and scratchbuild the winglets. All in all, the kit is cheap and with a bit of effort in can be made in a nice model. I think competes favorably with the decades-old Airfix equivalent, but it is still a 20th century kit… More than a recommendation, I'll choose the Minicraft kit because it is easier to paint…
