Voir et Savoir 32 - P-40B
Not really a box, I guess...
A tiny sprue... but so much detail!
Not much to it, I guess. A quick dry fit.
Nice of them to leave room for the DC motor in the engine cowling.
Fits... like a glove!
All buttoned up. Also, sanded down the wheels to make them fit in the wells.
Still needs a bit of work on the seams though.
A bit of glue got behind the side walls of the canopy... best to keep it covered up with masking tape so you can't see my mistakes!
First coat of paint... starting to look at the decals... myst be getting close!
The underside grey... propellor painted red.
Walk away from the workbench for a couple of months... now where did I put those wheels? Oh, right... in "safe keeping". Where was that again?! Luckily I've got a bag of spares... close enough.
Painted up you can't really tell, right?
Assembled... added an antenna... and promptly snapped it off. They're super small in 1/144 scale!
Some weathering, some decals... need a new antenna... Time to get the base sorted out and we'll be all done!

A comment from F_IV on one of MY 1/144 scale builds!? Made my day!
It is a bit of a challenge to get a dc motor into my builds, but all my Voir et Savoir builds have them. Including four motors going in the B-24 (Voir et Savoir 35 - B-24J | Album by strobez (1:144)). The one that was the biggest challenge though was getting a motor inside a 1/144 Cessna 172 (AREA 88 : Kamikaze (Cessna 172) | Album by strobez (1:144) ). Unlike most WWII war birds, the engine on the Cessna is flat on top… which makes it VERY hard to squeeze in a round motor. 😉

Thanks Roland! I'm just scared of having a 1/32 scale model box fall over on me and crush me to death. At 1/144 scale you still get to push them around and tell them who's boss! 😉

That worked out great. Lovely presentation and a very neat solution for the motor too. I definitely would not have guessed it was 1/144!
