Su-27sm 1/72 Flanker
Nose weight🙂
Scratch build HUD.
Really happy with the end result especialy at this scale.
I sanded the pilot down otherwise the canopy wouldn't fit.
Black primer
Pre shading
Flanker light blue and light grey added
Flanker blue added to complete the scheme
Dark night wash from Ammo is added to the whole plane to bring out the detail and weathering.
Wing pylons are added. the 2 center pylons are left off because i need to weather that area. And need to seal the decals on those pylons beforehand.
unmasked the intakes before I aplied a matt varnish. Really ahppy with the result on the intakes especially at this scale.
First try with VMS matt Acryilic. Really easy to use and doesn't shift the colours that much.
Masking off the metal parts.
Gloss black added as a base layer.
Vallejo Metal colour dark alluminium added as a base layer
Also dark alluminium used for the metal panel behind the barrel.
Masking some of the panel and after that i will apply Burned iron also for vallejo.
Wheels are ready for weathering.
Added a little metallic blue to the rear parts of the engine deck.
Not really a good masking job unfortunately.
blue metallic also added to some of the nossle panels.
Some oil weathering to the upperside of the fuselage.
Burned umber and blue oil paint for some more weathering.
Really happy with the result. Although it turned out a bit to dark. But you life and learn.
Finished without the weapons.
Fully loaded.
really happy with my first try at a flanker. My favorite jet fighter. I was really scared to try one but really happy with the result.
Masking the canopy is one thing i need to improve in the next build.

Beautiful Flanker, congrats! I love the final look of it! The size difference against the Fulcrum is shocking!

Vincent, it was super good result. My friend told me the canopy of this kit is hard to handle, how did you make it so clear and shinny?

Well I had no problems with the canopy I didn't do anything to it. I made sure it was cleaned before I installed it. I had problems with masking though because of the irst on the windscreen.
