Hasegawa Bf-109G-2.
First time using the FineMolds plastic seatbelts. Very impressed. Beautiful depth to the detail. However, this first position just didn't look right.
Much better. Far more realistic.
Kit instrument panel used. Unfortunately the camera on the iPhone makes the colour look like RLM02. In real life very much RLM66.
Completed cockpit. Beautiful detail on the FineMolds seatbelts. Will definitely use them again.
The work so far. Model resting on recently purchased/completed Vertigo jig.
All the main camouflage colours complete. Just have to add yellow tactical/theatre markings.
Really pleased with the result so far.
All decals applied and sealed with a gloss coat. Will start matt coats tomorrow.
A very fine pencil line down the fuselage spine to replicate the panel joints that are so characteristic of the Bf 109.
Flat coat applied and underside weathered to about 90%. Will finish the weathering once the landing gear is attached.
All finished. Will take better photos later. Plan to add it to a base later on.
All nose and little tail. 🙂
Decided to keep the canopy closed. I like the lines of the aircraft this way and a lot of my aircraft models have open canopies, so this is a bit of a change.
Pleased with how the decals and paint worked out in the end. First time completing an aircraft kit with all GSI Creos (Gunze) paints.
