F-100 trumpeter
My own 3d printed pilots
Some scratch on the mask
reshaping the wrong trumpeter nose
metal pitot tube
I masked a bit inside the main canopy to create a black seal. Now i will put a bigger mask that will cover to the edge
First metal paint layers
A bit of heat burning effect on the metal with clear blue and red to make a purpleish colour
i want to simulate the burned paint. This a test with some masking liquid over the metal paint and later a bit of brown and white... the problem with the masking fluid is that you can't see where the mask finish and makes difficult to make some paint effects
Custom made Mk82 bombs, 3d printed
I decided to go to traditional masking tape masks
I traced the burned areas over magic tape over the area. then I stick the magic tape over a masking tape and I cut it with a rotary cutter
finished underside Marbling
top Marbling needs to keep on working
I changed the masking of the burned paint to blutac instead the masking tape
I have applied a bit of white, then press the blutac to expand it and make a white frame.
I have improved the contours of the burned paint with watercolour pencils
My F-100 is called Miss Mynookie so i must work out something
I traced on the computer... the scale seems difficult to cut with the plotter
But I can!!!!
all the lettering is painted... then time for the decals
Working with water color pencils white and brown on the edges of the burned paint
Ready for a coat of gauzy
Mk82 decaled and ready for weathering
the HUN is ready for some weathering, just a few decals on the kit....
starting the weathering! always is nice to find good references
Left side almost ready
Starting weathering, left side first
I have used oil paints to redefine the burned paint
3d printing some atrezzo
First section of the foxhole
one wall ready, another one to come
The power unit, fire extingiser and the fox hole walls are 3d printed from my own design

Thanks to everybody!! Rui, the kit is the 1:48 scale trumpeter one easy to build, you need to correct a bit the intake because is too square but with a nail file is easy job.

Cool topic and a really good take on the 'action' that happens in the rear section of the fuselage (as well as the overall camo-job) 👍🏻
