Revell's E-2C Hawkeye in 1:144 scale
A fun simple kit to build.

This is, surprisingly, a nice, clean kit. Or, at least the one I got.

A negative is the hollow engines and some weird solution around the arrestor hook. The propeller blades is also simplified in shape, but I will scrape them and re-shape the prop profile.

I placed a piece of black card board inside the engines to block some of the view into them, and make the insides a little darker that way.

I also sanded away the lights on the wing tips and glued on bits of clear plastic and sanded into shape. Photo seem to show these lights as being clear, and not painted.

Quality time was spent on hiding seams and making things look smooth, which was easy enough.

I used sprue goo inside the "engine" cavities, to better hide seams and add plastic to the otherwise empty engine shape. Openings where re-shaped with a round file tool, and cleaned up the fuzz by adding a layer of liquid Tamiya Extra Thin Cement.
