Matilda Mk.III/IV

My first attempt at a 1/35 AFV model. Began in August 2016 and with shockingly (but for me average) slow progress.

Pic 1 shows my Matilda in the Caunter camo scheme. I agonised over the 'correct' colours to use for this and eventually made a boo boo anyway.
The Caunter Scheme colours applicable here are described as Light Stone, Silver Grey and Slate.
My research translated these as: Light Stone = pale sand/light brown, Silver Grey = Light Green/Grey and Slate = Dark Green.
In the end I settled for Light Stone = 50/50 mix of Humbrol 103 + 93, Silver Grey = Humbrol 90, Slate = Humbrol 78 all in Humbrol Enamel, prior to my attempt at trying Vallejo Acrylics with my next project.
The general consensus appears that the light blue colour called for in the instructions, and until recently shown the Tank Museum's own Matilda are not accurate. So I went with the above colours in the safe knowledge that I am going to significantly cover these up with weathering anyway, as every photo I've seen of any AFV that has spent any time on desert operations has shown them to be absolutely filthy and faded.
The 'boo boo' I made was that my chosen vehicle (T6949 Defiance) was supposed to have brown rather than slate as the darker colour. I only noticed this after applying the decals. Oh well. More pics to follow.
