Lovely job. You chose a great colour for it. Mind you, an XJ220 would look good in just about any colour.

I'm not into cars, but I've got to comment on the quality of your photos. Stunning!

A second note, your mirror plate, booth, and lights make some awesome pictures!

Beautiful job and a stunning colour. What paint did you use? I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who put the driver's side mirror on the door instead of on the wing. I did it accidentally, but I like it that way much better. It looks odd with one on the wing and the other one on the door.

All finished. Who could deny that this is one of the most beautiful cars ever built?

Thanks everyone. Christian, it is definitely a revelation when you put the clear coat onto the colour shift paint. This one has the same colour shift as the Nissan Skyline in my albums, but that one was on a gloss black base. It's good fun experimenting with different base colours to see how the effect shows up.

You've made a terrific model, David, the paint finish is perfect, but, come on, one of the most beautiful cars ever built? Just take a look at Jaguar's back catalogue - C Type, D Type, E Type, XK 120, 140, 150, Mk1, Mk2, Mk10, to name just a few, all more beautiful than this British Leyland monster. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

Looking good in that red. I was going to ask why you have the driver's side mirror on the wing instead of the door like on the other side, then I looked in my instructions and saw that it's supposed to be like that. I put mine on the door. The instructions don't show the right side mirror clearly except in the painting section, and there were no locating holes or indentations for them. I used some brass rod to pin mine to the doors. The headlight covers on mine are reluctant to sit up in the fully closed position. I had a few issues getting the body to sit nicely on the chassis. I wish they'd put some sort of lug to hold it all together. How did you find the metal JAGUAR stickers? Mine wanted to stick to the backing tape, but not to the car. They look nice, but are a real pain to use. Otherwise, it's a nice model to build.
