Davide VitaliVery nice! Please, note that the Italian flag in the ww2 was different in that it had the Royal family's icon on the white stripe

DoubtingmangoYou are correct Davide! I attempted the correct flag multiple times with a print out, but the ink kept running. I used acrylic paint to do a simple Italian tricolor. Maybe the crew had a few too many close calls with the stukas and made their own simple tricolor?
