I'm patching the cracks in between the part (there is many) with Super glue. Take forever but it make for a very sturdy join. Even once sanded.

Thank you Mark. This kit is as challenging (to me) as it is original. Weathering is done , next steps will be the landing gear assembly and the antenna and propeller installation.

Thank Guy, I got to finish the kit this week by adding the antenna radio wire. I'm happy with the result although there the resin seem to have reacted with the paint. There was some stains that seeped trough the paint.

Thanks Doubtingmango. 👍 I guess "low effort" is relative, lol. I really am trying to not have things on the "shelf of doom" and complete a kit before I start another, but the point at which I say "good enuf" and move on is a moving target some days...

I get it John. I still remember the first time I forced myself to use EVERY piece of photo etch from an Eduard detail kit. I now look at the detail kits as "suggested" modifications…

I am 100% with you. Having seen Super Etandards and french Crusaders in a book about french aircraft carriers made me wanna build those too. The french livery makes both planes look very elegant.

The Gnat had the canopy added, masked and then primer applied (light grey). I have painted the yellow with 3 coats of Vallejo Model Air Medium yellow and 2 coats of Hataka BS Golden Yellow. Next will be the tail. 🙂

Sprayed with gloss varnish and then added the decals. Next will be adding the wheels and other ancillaries. 🙂

Now completed, this is a Folland Gnat from the Yellowjacks display team based at RAF Valley, Anglesey in 1964, a forerunner team of the Red Arrows. 🙂 The last photo is a picture of the actual aircraft.

@Mr D, I used a very light grey primer followed by Vallejo Model Air Medium Yellow and then Hataka Trainer Yellow x 2 coats over that. They went on better than I expected. 🙂
