Two Zlin Akrobat are built. I'm going to show these flying: turning on their backs in the middle of an aerobatic display...
Here are the first pictures; the seat and control stick are still missing, because they have to be harmonised with the pilot figure before installation.

Both "Acrobats" are now doing something again: subtle pre-shading with black marks the last act before it gets really colourful!

Here, everything still shines after the first coat of clear varnish following the application of the decals. The next step is to complete the pilot figure

Now the second Zlin Akrobat is also as good as finished: the pilot has found his place, the surfaces are balanced in terms of gloss level - what is still missing is the canopy and the rotating propeller... It will be exciting for me to see whether the assembly in "flying mode" will go as planned. We'll soon see!

With this series of pictures I would like to show you the preparations for the final positioning of the Akrobat: in keeping with its name, it is to fly an acrobatic manoeuvre lying on its back - the wire is completely concealed with a white smoke strip. Next comes the cotton wool on the wire!
The aeroplane model as such is now finished; as the photos show, I have attached a wire loop to the tail and widened the gap of the engine cowling at the nose so that both a stable seat and removal of the model are possible.

Anxious to see how you display it. I have not found a final solution for my two Iskras yet, which I want to display in a similar manner, so I am keen to watch your progress.

Michael, thank you for your interest! I am currently in the process of covering the metal rod with cotton wool; I would be delighted if the construction process and the result are encouraging or informative for you.

Hello mates, greetings and have a great Christmas morning!
These days I have finished the last project of this year: the plan to present one of the Zlin Akrobat in this way has been on my mind for a good year. You know how it is when an idea matures in your head. The more intensively you have worked on the idea, the better the moment of completion. With this in mind, I am now very pleased to be able to show you the result of the "Zlin Akrobat acrobatcs"! Some things have turned out differently to how I imagined them, but the overall impression matches my "mental cinema" very well.
I wish you happy Christmas holidays!

Wow. So cool. With the blurred prop some shots easily fool you to mistake it for the real thing. Splendid result.
Was the pilot part of the kit? If not where did you get it?

Thank you for your very motivating reactions, mates! The pilot is from PJ Production: US Navy pilot seated in a/c ..(PJ Production 481104, 1:48)
I remodelled him a bit with a scalpel, removing the pilot's goggles on his forehead and making him a new, more civilian jumpsuit with pieces of Tamiya tape.
I'm really pleased that you like the result, thank you!
