F-4J Phantom II. - Jolly Rogers
I assembed the cokpit without glue, it is working. But for sure i glued the pearts together of course. This kind of without glue technic is interesting so far.
Unfortunatelly, the starter of ejection seat is missing from the kit. I try to make it from scratch from a wire.
It looks good in 1/72.
Acceptable. Black colour is missing. I try to paint the black lines onto the yellow wires with a pen.
The fit is perfect. Great kit!
White colour is ready. Masking before gray.
Ready to paint the gray color.
Grey colour is done. Black is comming.
Black to the nose can come. Silver to the tail.
Ready to paint black
Black colour is ready.
Correction is needed around the black. The mask removed the gray two places.
Center tank is on its place. I made a hole for the display stand.
Ready to decals.
Ready to decals. My favourite.
Decals ate perfect. Made by Cartograf. The stripe on the fuselage is extremly precise. As long as should be.
Lots of stencils. It took me an hour to put everything on the upper part of the left wing.
All the decals are in place. Final semi gloss coat is on. Few more touches and the phantom will be ready.
I removed the mask from the cockpit windows. Unfortunatelly something went wrong, because it is misty inside. I think the glue made it. In the picture it can't be seen. I think there is no solution.
Ready.

Mr D. Yes i recomend it, defintly. Most of the places, the fit is perfect. A small misalignments are there at the jet intakes and at the nosecone. The without glue technic is interesting. Sometimes give you a little headache, because after paint the elements don't want to go together. You have to remove the paint from the alignment pins. The panel lines are nice and crispy. I used glue everywhere to be sure. Summary:excelent kit.
