The LaGG 3 & the Mig 3 were sleek designs. I wonder how these would look as American reworked pylon racers.
Something that would present these in a way which would disguise their origin to the uninitiated. PS NICE CRAFTSMANSHIP.

Thanks Phil, I agree - to me they look fast, even when stationary!I am away from home at the moment, so doing a little building when I have an unoccupied moment. Hoping to make a pilgrimage to Hannants before I go home.

Nice😉 I love the design of the LaGG 3. Nice to see that there are 1/72 kits out there of this plane.

I think that it is a very handsome aircraft and might have done great things with a better power to weight ratio (as indeed the airframe did when combined with a Shvetsov radial in the La-series). This is a reboxing of the old Frog kit, which can also be found under the "Red Star" label. I know that Toko and Dakoplast also released Lagg-3 kits, but I'm not sure if they are new tools or not.

Soeren, you're welcome. I've just remembered that Roden also do a number of Lagg-3 variants, which may well be new tools. Be warned that the old tooling kits seem to have colour schemes about which there is some doubt (they all seem to show dark earth or some brown shade where modern research seems to suggest black.) Other than that and the relatively low level of detail they are fine. I have one in the marketplace if you are interested..

Yeah some day fits best 🙂 Kind of afraid to start building my first kit, because I KNOW that it will be ugly as "Shit" 😛

I'm sure it will be great! Even if it doesn't turn out so well, it will always be something you can look back on in later years in order to judge the progress you have made.
