Thnnx a lot! The aircraft in single color could be bored a bit for me, so... modulation and weathering will help.

Hi Kerber, nice work on the kit just wondering what colour blue did you use for the base coat. I have a F4U waiting to be built, I use Vallejo and Tamiya paints. Thanks

Uh...I am on enamel colors still...have stock full of that...
This is Humbol gamma of blue, Hu25, Hu96, and Humbrol midnight blue...cannot remember number....then mixed with black Humbrol color....First sprayed wery light layer of HU25, whole AC, then 96, also in light layer, there and there, not whole model, and then, mixed 25+black, mixed 96 on some spots....almost as wash...Could be at 5-6 thin layers.
So, the surface is not uniformed in one color, and i I like it. You could image that some of another modelers here have bigger skill in that process, so the result could be much, much better. I am only awerage skilled modeller, but i like experiments in the modelling, painting, etc.
For Valejjo and Tamiya..i couldnt help you....never tried one....sorry.

Thnx for Your comment!
Mine model is not the new one...i've bought it a couple years ago, and finished it on the beginning of the Year...
Assembling is easy, not big problem, only 3 spots for filling with putty or super glue....
If You ask for new Revell Corsair, F4U-1a/d Corsair, but i havent seen it yet. I have read that the kit is OK, engraved pannel lines, easy to complet..

What a delightful little work of art you have here Kerber. No matter how you went about the colours, just look at any Corsair from the WW2 era and they were all kinds of blue on the one air frame, sun bleach, salt air, storms, rain and general ware and tare , you name it, the Corsairs got attacked by it, then there was the oil leaks, and a radial engine was no good unless it leaked oil all over the place, and your exhaust soot is spot on mate. Well done. 🙂

Thx for Your comment mate! I am glad if all of you like my work!
..And yes, i am trying to make used aircraft, not museum -like one...sometimes i am doing it better, sometimes i am doing not so good model, but, i like it...

I look at scale modelling this way Kerber. Artists have a sheet of canvas with nothing on it, from there, what ever they do with that canvas is their interpretation of what they "See". A Scale modellers canvas is a model that is in a box, from there on, it is their interpretation of what they "See", no real fixed rules on what you do, just some guidelines on some posabilities. I like the way you "see' your builds. You are a GOOD scale modeller mate. 🙂

Album info

Revell kit in 1/72.
I have just improved the nose of the plane, because the fuselage is short one, for F4U-4, so, it must be longer for cca 5mm after engine part. The wheel wells are not deep enough, but i can live with it.
