Na, da bin ich mal gespannt.
Da kündigen sich größere chirurgische Eingriffe an ?!
Druckkörper sichtbar...?

very nice... the canning of the hull is done by scraping I presume, but how did you do the detail on the saddle tanks?

between the bolts I scraped with a knife.... the tanks were worked with a milling head in my dremel 🙂

Nice barreling! Are you going to move anchor well forward or drill out drain holes?

All holes will be opened... some drilled open, some replaced with photo etched parts.... the anchor will remain I think.

In my experience moving the anchor is quite an easy task. Replacing torpedo doors with PE parts proved to be more difficult. The challenge is to make the joint flush.

I think I will change the position of the anchor and also add some more of these fantastic rivets... maybe all rivets...🙂 These are by Archer Fine Transfers 🙂

Seems to be a dusty and time consuming work so far, but it was it worth. Looks really promising with the rough surface structure and all the PE parts.
Cheers, Christian

Wow, excellent work on the steelskin texture, bow tubes and "water intakes" ! I didn`t even know these PE sets existed.
I´ve never seen the plating over the Diesel exhaust though, is this a late version speciality ?

Would be fine to get additional information about the building steps. Guess the last coat of paint is to check the seams along the PE parts and as a pre shading along the welding seams?!
Ah, by the way, nice work so far🙂

The light grey paint was made to get a light color as base for the black rivets and welding seams. A black primer is following on the full ship once the rivets and seams are done... as preshading. 🙂

Wow very nice progress. I'm not sure if I would trust to go out with the rusty sub for a further mission, but it looks much nice. Well done painting and weathering and excellent modelmaking!
Just one question, were the deck planked with wood gratings? I ask because I thought they're steel?!
TIA for your feedback
