Clinton Winters' Jug
Meet ‘Rae’, Maj Hal Shook’s personal mount flown by Lt Clinton Winters the day it was shot down.
This is a picture of it stationed in France in autumn 1944.
"Rae" photographed somewhere in France. Of note are the missing landing gear doors.
A little snippet from a local newspaper.
The remembrance plaque in the small town of Mechelen with the two crash sites just outside the town.
The plaque next to a Dutch bunker to fend off the German invaders.
Quite scenic there! 🙂
Clinton Winters’ part of the story.
The decal sheet...
.... with a focus on ‘Rae’....

Very interesting project. And with a great historical connection 👍 I will take a seat for this.

Album info
Although this was Major Shook's personal Jug, on that December day in 1944 it was actually piloted by Lt. Clinton Winters and crashed into the South Limburg country side.
