Як-40 (CCCP-88239)
Stand slot has to be filled & sanded
The later Yaks don't have the vertical inlet, so I decided to pimp it a bit
Something missing...
.. indeed, the wheel wells 🙂
As the main exhaust is different on later Yaks it also needs some tweaking...
.. like this ...
Not really straight, have to correct it.
Should be better now
wtf?
repainted
Yes, front is not the strong side 😉

I guess you plan to add liquid glass to the windows. I've always wondered how that will work with oval windows on a rounded fuselage.

I already experimented with Plasticart's Mercure and An-24V and I intend to do it in two phases: first to fill the windows at all (this part is drying right now and as I already learned it will be bit too deep) and then I plan to add second portion with a bit of excess to get it aligned with the fuselage.

@Trehugger: I added one pic showing the end result of the liquid glass usage - not exactly flat, but I didn;t add the second layer actually. One window has a small bubble, but I decided to leave it as it is. I sealed the windows using multiple thin layers of GX gloss varnish.
Revaro decals dissapointed me a bit - the canopy frame had to be cut in half and the front ends of the sidebands overlapped each other, giving a dark blue shade. So I had to mix couple of Gunze paints to match the colour. I hope I managed to do it, but the result will be visible after varnishing only. Meanwhile I used this mix to spray the engines, but I have still to darken it a bit more.

My Gunze H mix started to react with the surfacer underneath, so I was forced to paint the engines from scratch again. Currently Yak stands on its own wheels, while I work on thrust reversers (scratchbulit) and undercarriage details.

How great is that? 👍 I grew up with Plasticart and I'm currently working on a similar project. True to the motto, back to the roots.😉
