Space Shuttle on mobile launch platform

Dry fitting revealed some messy casting ... 

... and serious gaps. 

Assembly of the external tank (ET). 

Assembly of the hatches and payload for the cargo bay. 

As I was going to glue the cargo bay doors shut I did not paint these parts. 

Assembly of the main hull of the orbiter vehicle. 

This opening has to become much bigger ! 

Putting on the orbital maneuvering system (OMS). 

Assembly of the two solid rocket boosters (SRB). 

The main parts got their first layer of white primer. 

Glueing the radiator pannels to the payload bay doors. 

Brownish color for the ET. 

Assembly of the side panels of the mobile launch platform. 

I made notches in the outside of the caterpillar to make the individual links more visible. 

Painting the 8 "wheels" of the crawler-transporter. 

Full assembly of the painted mobile launch platform. 

Adjusting the LOX feedline piping on the external tank. 

Decals on the SRB's. 

Ready for decals ... 

After applying the decals. I made some additional carved lines in the payload bay doors to distinguish the different panels. 

Ready for lift-off !
