Custom Shop Truck

I started to build the Cameo OOB, but didn't like the way the bed looked, so I decided to build it as a flatbed custom. Got the scratch work done, but then couldn't decide how to finish it, so I set it aside for several months, until I decided to finish it as a custom shop truck. Paint is custom mixed, decals are from other kits, or custom-made.

The grille was molded closed, so I sanded away the back to open it up. The windshield and rear window of the Cameo kit are about 1/2mm too short for the openings, so I chopped the top of the cab by about 3/4mm, and then carefully filed the glass to fit.

The rear bike fenders are the wheel wells cut from another kit.

Bed frame, fuel tank, and rear bumper are scratch-built from styrene, deck is made from basswood strips. Taillights are cut from transparent red sprue.

beautiful. very nice personal way.
I would have added a bit of wash in the wheels.

I thought the very same thing after I saw the photos. I did go back and add a wash to the wheels, the hood emblem, and the fuel tank, but I didn't take new photos. Thanks for the comments!
