@Michael Hickey - yeah, VF-11 Red Rippers first sported similar nose art on their last cruise, then one of the museum birds got a modified version of that in colours (VF-11 was black or dark grey). And these are slightly modified as well; I don't recall spiked collar on originals.

@Sebastijan, The first time I saw the cartoon was on a VF-84 Jolly Rogers F-14, it had two blue rings on the neck area making it an inert missile. I've also got a pic of the cartoon on an aircraft Modex 200, VF-11 Red Rippers F-14, this time with a gold or yellow spiked collar. Aircraft 210 from VF-11 also had it on her in Lo-Viz.
