OH-58D Kiowa - Italeri 1/48

Hello !
This is my last build : OH-58D Kiowa , from Italeri, 1/48 scale.
This kit is really average low quality…. The surface details are pretty good, but the fittings are really poor (the engine upper cowling and the canopy, especially).
The other main issue is the decals… For some reason, on the biggest ones (the “US Army” marking for example), when dried, the stencil changed the color of the paint underneath (never seen that before….).
I’had to remove it, sand the paint and apply new decals from the “Fireball” sheet (be careful, the decals on this sheet are not pre-cut…. This has to be done manually, around and very close to each markings).
Conclusion : the original decals of this Italeri kit are not from Cartograf and only the smallest ones might be use on the kit. Otherwise, you should consider using the Fireball decals.
The Pilot is coming from Reedoak. The details are incredibly fine, thanks to the 3D technic. Reedoak is proposing a process to reduce the visibility of the layers (from the 3D printing) on their website. After having been primed and painted, the layers almost completely disappeared.
I'was wondering why there was so few built of this kit shown on the web..... now I'know.... ;<)
Thanks for looking.
Bye
