British Model required a Scotch touch. Note the color chart I made- later on my custom mixes for "British Green" and "Linen" were added.
Super glue and super glue remover is hell on small parts.
Total fits on the fit
First of several layers of Vallejo paint to make a wood look.
2nd layer
Had some fun with the leather seats and the scratch-built fire extinguisher.
That front seat, wasn't cast properly so it didn't fit exactly.
The odd proportions become apparant.
First attemps to "pin the blame". Note I no longer use Gorilla Glue.
Pins sound good, but actually getting them to align, that's another matter.
My recipe for "Linen"
My reciple for "British Green"
This was fun 🙂
This wasn't fun. The Tamiya white didn't stick to the MM Grey Primer. Whereas ANYTHING sticks to Tamiya primer.
Masking the wing float - this took some mental gymnastics.
Note I attached the top deck so I could get the stripes aligned.
Wings and Stabilisers good to go.
I quickly added pins to the vertical stabilizer. At this point, the Blue/White/Red was a decal.
I drilled extra-large holes to allow the glue to grip in more than one dimension.
And off comes the decal
Starting to add the support struts.
And the wing breaks again!
My first "wiring" The little arms that allow for the ailerons to move, were so small and from what I could tell, mis-sized as the final model had many of those control wires dragging across the wing surfaces. Or was that must me?
Note I figured I had to put down the decals first, so I did with many coats of Future on them in a vain attempt to protect them from all of the fiddling needed to wire things up.
LEGO!!!!
The side guns and mounts. Another prime example of the instructions and kit engineering being insufficient to the task.
A little black SuperGlue (which is flexible) allowed me to make these loops which then helped with the rear stabilizers.
One of several attempts to get everything lined up properly.
I like this little clamps from the UK. Shame I couldn't get the darn engines in there correctly.
There is a lot going on here to get that wing and the engines all lined up. I think of it as working in six axis at once.
Done for now.
Note I have attached the internal wires to the top wing before joining it to the lower wing.
Neil Indeed! I'm with David. Just WOW, though maybe if a build is pushing you to the bottle, it's a build too far! 😁😂 Looks like you overcame the difficulties and produced a fabulous end result though. Kudos. 👍👍

Landlubber Mike Nicely done Don! This is not an easy subject (or color scheme), especially in this scale. Looks great! Thanks for sharing your process, as I have a couple of these in the stash that I'll get to at some point.

Album info
I'm not a show-quality modeler, but I've built enough to know that this model was way above my paygrade.
Kit Issues: There were no locator pins to speak of. Instructions were too small and sparse to correctly identify alignments (esp on the engine assemblies and engine/mounts/wings. Wings were butt-jointed and kept breaking (I ended up inserting pins). And the wiring detail didn't even match the box art. Also note the poor molding in the early pictures.
Firsts: Biplane, extreme weathering, mastering superglue (Loctite SuperGlue Gel in the wee bitty bottles, plus the needle trick). LEGO!!!
What went wrong: Busted wing joints, misaligned engines, poor attachment of guide wires.
What I'm proud of: I finished the damn thing vs throwing it out.
