Wow, where have you found it? I guess it's the one I saw in Chantilly, VA?
PS. Checked it out, that was N-1M.

Please feel warmly welcomed, Mates. I am glad to have you all on board.
@Łukasz - you're right, at Steven Udvar-Hazy site there resides the N-1M. I had an opportunity to see it too 😉

According to many modellers here at Scalemates, pink is better (see, e.g.: The Black Island (DH 82 Tiger Moth) | Album by strobez (1:72))
And it seems to work - take a look at last two photos above, Ben 😉

So glad to see Robert as a convert to the pink primer for yellow school of thought is spreading the good word. 🙂

I'll give it a try - I even have some pink spray paint I can use up for this. However I'm not sure my tiger moth is any less yellow with a white base: Leger VVC Batavia Tiger Moth | Album by uhrwerk (1:72)

Looks like Erik and Greg could smell the pink colour. 😄
Okay, thanks for explaining. At first I thought you'd also use pink primer for blue. But I think there it's best to stick to white.

Your Tiger Moth looks really good indeed, Ben. Actually I have bad experience with white primers, so I decided to give a try to pink.

The yellow wing era yellow always looks a little orange to me. Do you think the pink might help it look a little more that way?

Surely, Ben. The pink base makes yellow a bit darker and deeper, as far as I see.

The pink underlay does make the yellow much deeper and richer, so it might really depend on how strong a colour you want. I really like the fact that it's basically one coat of yellow and you're done.

Robert, was there also a plane with yellow on the top and blue on the bottom?

Thanks, Mates 😉
@Erik - to the best of my knowledge it was the very same plane, and the scheme you mention is proposed in the instructions sheet of this kit, while the one I have chosen was included in its Hasegawa rebox version. As far as I know, for some time she was painted also yellow overall...

Thank you all, Mates! I am glad you like it 😉
@Łukasz - actually, I am not, since this was an experimental plane and looks clean on the photos I consulted. I only accentuated control surfaces and slots with pencil.

A nice little gem!
A very special example - what we can expect from you😁
I had no idea how well a pink primer would work for yellow - thanks for bringing this to my attention!
Even if I rarely use it, I still learned something new😄
Ps.: really like the color scheme!

Oh, how I missed this? Nice result!
I hope I have not overlooked it: What is your experience with Mr.Paint?

Thank you, Bughunter. I am glad you like it! My experience with Mr.Paint is totally positive - can be applied in thin layers and gives perfect coverage. It can be easily scratched, however, and since the paint is already airbrush thinned the touch-ups are virtually impossible. Of course this is a problem of such a mediocre-skilled, impatient modellers like me 😉

I love them too, especially the WWI line, but have the same experience regarding robustness. May be due to the thin paint layers it is not robust as Gunze for example. So it is easy to remove the paint on edges while handling it so it needs to be handled carefully.
