Cutting up the Messerschmitt

Day 3 of self isolation, so started putting together an old present 

Not too complicated so far.  

Huge air intake on the side of the fuselage. 

The idea; lower radiatorflaps open and landingflaps lowered 

Everybody loves to Dremel 😉 

And now to the sanding  

Result for now. Let's see how it looks after a coat of paint

I put the droptank on as early as possible, to prevent weight on the flaps...  

First time using a masking kit 

Why should there be a mask for the tail wheel? 

Wing and fuselage glued together 

 

First and second coat of paint applied 

 

Rudder attached 

Canopy masked, so far so good

Quick update from the BF 109, decals are in place, and I'm working on the small parts.
Lego jig to the rescue 

One wheel down, one wheel damaged for the ground loop diorama 

Canopy in place, tomorrow the antenna mast, maybe even the wire 

Completed the BF 109.
