Starting this wonderful little kit, I mixed XF-60+XF-62 with a small amount of XF-3 and XF-2 for the interior color.
Added wires.
Decals added with micro sol and set.
fuselage halves wings and elevators assembled.
Masked the canopy by hand took about 40 mins, and there are gaps on the edges of the wings that I'll have to fix soon.
I used Mr.Finishing Surfacer 1500 Black as a primer and then used GX2 Ueno Black for the gloss.
Mr. hobby super fine silver 2 was used for the metal. I was impatient and did not wait for the primer to cure for at least 12 hours before applying the metal paint so we will see how this turns out, it looks good enough to me though. in the future I won't make this same mistake.
lots of work done today it's almost finished, now for the weathering!
Applied an oil wash using sepia thinned with enamel thinner, I just have to add some oil stains on select panels exhaust stains then the rigging and it will be complete.
The kit is complete now. my biggest issue with this build was the decals they did not go down very well, I used micro sol and set but maybe I didn't use enough because they look quite bumpy hopefully I was able to hide most of that. 😄

Made some progress with the interior, I've dry brushed metal and added a sepia oil wash to enhance the detail. I still need to add the instrument decal and then finish the wiring behind some of the dials. But I will do my best to be more thorough with this build.

Looks brilliant Ethan. As a beginner can I ask what's the advantage of dark primer?

This is a good question Simon! When you're painting a metal surface a black glossy primer helps to achieve a superior metallic sheen compared to a normal matte gray primer.
I've made a youtube playlist of videos that have been very helpful to me. If you would like to check that out I'll leave a link here. youtube.com/playlist..PJPZ6A6CrZ8qZdR1P1ah
