Pre polished with #4000 polishing grit. First time using A Stand fast silver the results are incredible

Primed with Ammo primer then used Tamiya X1 gloss black as a base coat

What did you do with the interior? The color looks so thick and why it's so shiny? On picture #19 it looked not that bad (for work with a brush) but then ...
...and you mixed up the pictures. There are some of e military thing inbetween (#7, #12)

Glossed with ak third gen, I was after a new look. I had problems removing the tac off the back of the tamiya masking tape where I think I rolled it to hard to prevent bleeding. I started wanting to airbrush it all but fell at the first hurdle with tac problems. Suggestions welcome on both gloss and masking. The paint dried a very chalky dry matt.

Holy moly. That sounds like that you had a really bad day.
I couldn't give you any help. I avoid twotone seats because I don't like all the time consuming masking. I try to keep it easy. When I use tape for masking, I use "Goldband". It is like the masking tape by Tamiya but has the same width like the regualar masking tape, which the painters use for their walls 😉 I put it on the part an cut it then with a sharp knife (cutter) So far, I had not that much trouble. I don't use Tamiya colors. I use enamel by Revell.
Before I brush it, I press the tape on the part again and again. I see too, that it comes lose while other parts waiting for color. I have to pay a lot ot attention to the tape on small spots.

Dave, just a tip for removing the sticky, from masking tape. WD-40 is your friend. Apply with a cotton bud, kitchen roll, whatever works best for you? Then use a little soapy water and whatever, to clean that up. Job done 👍

Really? WD40 is one solution? I never thought on this stuff. It doesn't react to the color?

@christian. No mate, I've never had an issue? I've used it on Tamiya, Mr Color and Revell and Humbrol enamel and acrylic.

Album info
Nice little Revell kit which I enjoyed doing. First time with Ammo A stand Fast Silver which sprayed like a dream. Had a go with AK Extreme chrome but got nowhere near the same results as the mig. Glossed out of the rattle can however I think it's far too thick which shows in a few places. Tried to do the seats with Ak interior set but found them very chalky. Not the result I hoped for as they look gloop because I had to paint thick. Tried spraying at first but too complex with several different colours. Lots of lessons learnt and it's onto the next one.
