The base moulds for this kits date back in the 80s and looking at it today, it’s amazing how far ahead the rest of the market Hasegawa was back then. However, time marches on and despite the occasional sprue add-ons, the kit is starting to show its age with the occasional flash, inconsistent mould lines, as well as mix and match between raised panel lines and engraved lines found within the kit.
The details aren’t going to match the newer releases in terms of rivets and such, but most of the important stuff is there. The only downside with this kit is the poor fit between the air intake and the fuselage - which will require a shim to cover the glaring gap.

Can't wait to see the album for this one. The Hasegawa F-16 is the "comfort food" of my modeling world.

@Nathan - though the Tomcat is my fav, I certainly agree with you on the Falcon/Viper - it's definitely a comfort food when you want to get a good satisfying build that looks great with "minimal" effort. 😀
@DuperScale - it's funny how relative expensive is these days - when you see kits zooming past the $100 mark!
