After gliding to land

When I saw the Eduard kit of the Bell X-1 I was fascinated and decided to build it. While doing so and reading about the plane and the record attempts, I thought it would be fun to build a little diorama, at which I am still very amateur, so when I saw an ICM kit of US Ground Crew (admittedly Vietnam war era, not late 1940's) and they looked great, I decided to have a go. I built the plane at the end of February, then the ground crew figures, which was fantastic fun for a total novice, about a week or so later. I then started on the base and really struggled getting the colours right, which I'm still not convinced I have, but it looks good enough for a first (OK second, I have done a base before, but not quite as imagination based as this). I then got totally sidetracked by Heller's Gendermarie Renault Estafette, but I have finally finished it, and thought I would post it here as a record.
