A complete Scratch build of a dutch bridgelayer Centurion based.
Austria bought some Centurion to use the turrets in small gun emplacements from the 60th to the 90th, also we got some Pioneer Versions and Recovery tanks with some Bridgelayers without bridge...they all ended as Hard Targets, all but 2... 1 is in display in the Heeresgeschichtlichen Museum in Vienna, one in the barracks in Zwölfaxing.
I had the opportunity to take measures and fotos from this one, so i could start my scratch build...
Some info´s i got from the net, then an old Revell kit helped to build the bridge due to upscaling.
The bridge alone took nearly half a year of time to build, is fully functional and can be lowered and picked up again. It consists of nearly 5.000 parts, all cut from styrene sheets and Evergreen profiles.
The tank itself was easier to build...closing the turret ring, scratching some parts and thinking about how this whole apparatus can work: Finally i got the clue and now here it is: My Centurion Bridgelayer!
