Hi Zach, thanks. I haven't decided yet. The plan was to put a base but since such subject is quite predictable - beach, water, few obstacles etc. so I may change the plan 🙂

This project is a first time to me. Coming in 1/35 scale the size is tremendous comparing with the usual AFVs I've been building. Bit tricky just trying to handle such a big model longer than 40cm on my desk. Big salute to the Ship Gang!

One of the challenges met in the process is to get familiar with the maritime environment, which is quite distinctive from the land AFV's. Did quite a lot of research on the net to find pics of different things, such as seawalls, docks, landing ramps from ferries etc. Even learned how to tie sailor knots! Quite an interesting process and I have to admit that I've been enjoying that process.

Anyway, started next project now and let's see how it goes.

Just added the M4 halftrack to the LCM today. The LCM was completed 12 months ago. It's quite interesting to compare my own work 12 months ago - I'd definitely repaint the LCM sometime in future with the same technique applied on the M4 today.

Thanks gary for your idea to use buff. I can see a difference but it's barely noticeable in the photos.
Maybe I should use more buff but I'll wait and see what the whole scene looks like with resin water and water lilies.

Wow! This is going to be a stunner! I agree, the tree roots are well observed, so very convincing. May I suggest a few dead grass stems amongst the fresh leaves? Perhaps some old tree leaves too? Can't wait to see the lily pads...

Cheers Clair... Just for fitting to the hull... The connections between the running gear and hull are extremely loose... Not to mention the rocker arm assemblies have a tendency to be misaligned... Just mocking it up at the moment and see where I need to shore things up... Happy modelling...

This is the last piece of my work for the 2022 Christmas season! The LVT4 was completed in Oct 2022. But the diorama base took much longer. The water effect took about a week to fully healed and cured as multiple layers were done in days.

I didn't realise a mistake in the tracks until the very last step and it was too late to fix. Hope no one would notice 🙁

PS. I used the real sand from Byron Bay in New South Wales for the beach from a trip there last year!

Hope you enjoy the diorama as much as I do.

I build this kit myself. It was a nice build without big problems. I follow. Are you gonna replace the nose and back/apu or you gonna leave it?

I do have a resin nose in my stash, but I don't think I'm gonna use it: there's too much butchering of a fine kit involved for too little gain....: as I can't really tell the shape difference anyway?
