Bloody impressive work. I was confused by the pic with the lighter until I realised its 1/72. Excellent modelling skills

Weathering for the body is done - Maybe Ive overdone it a little bit, but I really like the outcome so far.

Oh, I see a printed barrell. Will this be another GuP project or do you plan to make a historic BT-42?

Thanks. I'm going to do it for GuP, but I don't even have decals for it yet😬. So, the end result will not be soon.

Nice work on the roadwheels. 👍 Did you manage to get the decals in the meantime? A while ago I could find an abundance of them on eBay for example but now it seems much harder to get GuP or Ace Combat decals.

Thank you, Robin. The decals arrived almost in the middle of this month. I ordered decals from AliExpress, they are designed for 5 schools. I'm going to update the album for you to see. If you want to order, then I will send you a link to them in the PM, but it is not a fact that it will work for you.

Great job so far! I would love to get an explanation about how to do these LED lighting in detail as I have no idea about this.

Thanks Tim, Villiers, and Thomas. I did put a led for the trolled sonar bay back at the stern. It is apparently not bright enough to be really visible. Probably not noticeable after finished.
I prefer to use Led tape light as it has build in resistors so I don't need do calculation to figure out the resistor value. Once that is sorted, what left is just connect the led unit with a battery and a switch. I think it is better to ask a trained electrician as the circiut I built don't last long and I don't really know why.

I expect modelling of the highest quality from your bench. So far I am not disappointed. 🙂
Keep it up.

Hm, how long did it take to make the nice looking ocean surface? It certainly looks like a fun project.
I wish I knew how to make such ocean surfaces, as it really seem to complete a model with such a diorama.
I am no expert on led's but my impression is that one has to be careful that the voltage to the led's is controlled to specs, so they don't burn out shortly after and end up being un-repairable inside the model. Also, something about connecting led's in parallel, pattern iirc, to avoid one dead led blacking out all the rest of the leds in a serial connection, iirc.

Thanks Treehugger, THomas and Tim.
As for the sea base, you can check a YouTube channel called ''studio blue ocean'', I basically followed his videos. And treehugger did a pretty good summary for LEDs. The voltages is very important and it is always needed to put some resistors in series to potect the LEDs. The size of the resistors can be calculated with ohms' law. There are small circuit boards for LEDs which can be used to make everything easier.

Getting better and better; can you please show us a detail picture from the inside of the hangar? Did you build this from scratch?

Thanks, Rui and Villiers. I just masked the hangar as I am going to paint the outside. I will get better hangar photos once finish. The trumpster kit comes with the hangar and the ceiling is in good detail (I only add LEDs to the ceiling). Only the walls need additional work to add details, like handrails, supports etc.

@Hang Li: For the 'oil canning' effect. Did you have accurate plans for the frame spacing or how did you come up with the pattern you used? I have to say that is look really convincing after some more weathering effects are applied on top.

thanks Ingmar, Gary and Villiers. As for the 'oil canning' effect, I found some photos which are somewhat visible for this effect as reference for the pattern and I have to simplifie the pattern to make it practical. So it is not quite accurate. I got some pre-cutted masking paper in 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm and I just picked one that I believe is most suitable.

The front end was an issue ever. Im not the biggest fan too. I was buying this because I thought it was built in 1973 too. But the 1973 GTO is a totally other car and this kit doesn't fullfill the requirements of our annual group build of our "club".
After looking through that wip, ... I think I will not go that far. But one I will do: reduce the gaps at the front. They are really present.

I started this GTO in between because the Charger sucks a little or my mind gives me the order that I have to work on several kits at the same time.
I was in the mood, to get this car painted. So I get some spots sanden on the body, fillered it and gave it a kind of green-turquis-blueish. This rattle can is on of the leftover of the 1977 Firebird (1977 Pontiac Firebird Coupe | Project by christian-w (1:25)) color I bought, when I was looking for the right color. I think it works on this car good.

Next steps are done. The body got it's clear cote, undercarriage and interior is painted too. It's good. Now I'm thinking about how to get a little more shade into the interior color. It's to close to the body color.

I painted the interior. First i tried with tamiya smoke to go over it but I wasn't satisfied. Then I went through my metallic paints and grabbed #397 (Car Metallic Plane Tree Green) and mixed a little #60 (Yellow Green) into it. Maybe 10%. I think it's not that bad so far.
Now I think about to take the same mixture for my 1977 Firebird 🙂

Thank you! It could be, that I go over it another time. It depends on, how it works together with the exterior color. It might be a little to green 😉 The body looks more blueish. Darker. Dirtier 😉 Somehow.

I like your build. It may be too late now, but the rear package tray was this cardboard and is the same color as the door cards.

Thanks, Bill. Maybe to late. Yes, it is. I know, that it should be in the same color like the door panels and/or the seats. I wanted to have a bit of more contrast in the interior because it looked a little boring for me I will say. So I decided, to "costumize" that. I was thinking the same way at the lower part of the door panels too but - as you can see - I didn't change that.

Thank you verymuch. The last week I took the chassis and powertrain. It comes to an end. Taking pictures and get you an update. I decided too, to build a mold for the lights to get them clear instead of that chrome at the front.
With this kit I'm fine.

Slowly it comes together. The windows are in and the chrome trim is done. Not satisfied am I with those red rear lights. I'm trying to do my own in clear resin but they are so small, that I still have on tiny tiny bubble in it. I'll give it a last try.... On thing really sucks: the fitting of the rear bumper. I wish, I'd test fitted it in advance....
