The crew have bailed out. But they both shut the canopy before leaping away. Both very considerate and daring!

Well done mate! Love the paint scheme and presentation 👌
@Trez: ....instead of ranting, build it and come up with your own innovative way of presenting it

Fantastic 👍 I really like the scheme. Good execution and presentation!

Very nice and innovative build. Really like the paint scheme. Could i ask where you found the paint scheme or is it a fictional one?

Awesome build my friend🤩 Don't let the insincere comments get you down. Brush aside those shills! I've seen this paint scheme on many publications so you have done your research! You rock!

![](/profiles/img/103936-697-s.png)
Thanks for all the comment!
@Trez: I would love to have crews for my planes, but it's rare. Border Model doesn't give you one with this kit just a standing Rudel as extra and in general it's quite rare to get pilots and gunners. But I do like my planes in flight, so I rather have them in flight without crew, than on the ground. As I would call it "the sitting duck position".
@Alan G: It's a scheme found on the old 1/72 Matchbox kit. I did build that when I was a kid and I just felt like redoing it with this one.

![](/profiles/img/132974-828-s.jpg)
@RoguePlastic: No offence given.
This is the problem with having 1/35 scale - there are very few if any seated pilots! So I can see why you have resorted to "the flying turkey pose". Nothing wrong with artistic flair👍

Thanks for replying regarding the paint scheme. I'll have to try and find the unit and a picture of it now. I'd like to have a bash at doing this.

![](/profiles/img/132974-828-s.jpg)
Well, don't let anyone stop you! Maybe you can get the matchbox kit for reference?
17 February, 12:39
![](/profiles/img/103936-697-s.png)
@Alan G: The paint scheme on the Matchbox kit is for a D3 version, so this build of mine is really an "artistic flare" as others would say. I haven't seen any images of this kind of camo on a G1/G2.
The reference on the Matchbox kit is JU 87/D3. 1/St.G2. "Immelmann" Russian Front 1943/44, with the id T6+BH.
Hope this helps finding it.

This pant scheme never existed but it's a great what if pilotless build!
But most kits are modelled sitting on an airfield - especially when there is no one flying it!

![](/profiles/img/103936-697-s.png)
@Trez Mackenzie
Or was never photographed. We have no clue what camo schemas the ground crew applied on each and every airplane. Especially washable white, which we all know was just temporary.
The underlying camo paint is the default one though. So that existed.
Granted, the identification number is completely fabricated and has been applied wrong anyway. as the right side should've been the other way around and not mirrored.
On the other hand, I am tired to see yet another Rudel Stuka, so I did this.
It's like getting a flaming skull tattoo. You think you get something unique and then you see 10 other people having the same skull on the street.

If I could build a kit that well I would not feel compelled to apologize or explain away anything. Love the camo scheme and presentation. Any chance we could get some close-up pics of the interior?

@Soeren R.
Thank you!
The outside is gorgeous with all the rivet detail and the fit is almost perfect.
The inside is lackluster. No harnesses, the control stick is completely wrong, the rear turret is not that great either. The instructions are vague, no color call outs, No decal instructions. Overall bad instructions. But this is something I noticed with Border Model kits. The things they do well, they do it really good. The things they miss or do bad, they are really bad.
So overall I would say it's a strong middle. The good parts are exceptional, but the bad parts do weigh it down. If you're going to build it, I would recommend doing research on it and for decal positions I recommend using other kit instructions, like the Trumpeter 1/24 one.
@Doubtingmango
Thank you! Your kits look great as well!
Sadly the cockpit is all closed up, but you can check out the build videos of it on my YouTube channel about the build if you want to see the insides, the last one should be up soon as well.
@CaptGPF
Thank you!

A very well built and painted kit. I think it would have looked more emphatic on a snowy airfield. That said the 1/35 decision seems dumb to me.

What has happened to the entry for kit AMT/ERTL 8803 "Vought A-7D Corsair II" Scale 1/72 (in category "Vought A-7 Corsair II") ? It used to be there, now it's "not available" ? If it had been deleted as a duplicate that would be fine -- but it wasn't a duplicate, there was just the single entry.

Should SCM Brand: Hungarian Armour Decals
and SCM Brand: H.A.D. Hungarian Armour Decals
be merged? Just curious, I don't know the history of this brand.

Uuugggg.... so they have a Lancaster at 1:32, but then go and release this in 1:35. Yes I know the difference is minuscule and 99% of people won't notice, but still. The bomber series has been established at 1:32, just stick to it.

![](/profiles/img/21997-347-s.jpg)
That is discussed recently a lot, but Border Model has not started it. The SM database has nearly 300 full kits in group "Aircraft" in 1:35 so this is nothing new. That scale is more used for dioramas so you can find more figures, cars and accessories compared to 1:32.
17 January, 19:40
![](/profiles/img/114477-384-s.jpg)
Of that 290 1:35 scale aircraft kits listed here, 260 of them are the same few helicopter kits just reboxed many times over the years. The only non-rotorwing kits are for obscure drones in resin kits (which would make sense for a diorama) or kits from the 1960s that haven't sold well enough to reissue. The remainder are small civilian craft like Cessna's, again kits from the 60s that didn't warrant reissue.
If you're going to manufacture a more mainstream aircraft subject, like the He111, stick to one of the mainstream scales - 1:72, 1:48, 1:32, or 1:24
18 January, 14:18
![](/profiles/img/21997-347-s.jpg)
Yes, you are right. So don't buy it.
On the other hand they are free to release what they want. And if there are enough 1:35 dudes who buy this kit (I don't know the number), they will have done everything right from a business point of view. If not, it's there own fail and will prevent such future releases.
18 January, 14:28
![](/profiles/img/15655-827-s.jpg)
Sorry mate, but I'm with bughunter on this one: If you don't like it, don't buy it.
Btw, calling (Airfixes ...) 1:24 aircraft kits mainstream, is a bit of a stretch. Airfix is, as far as I know, the only big company who still releases newly tooled kits this scale. The fact that you have all of Airfix's 1:24 aircraft kits in your stash, doesn't make it mainstream.... just saying 😉
18 January, 15:38
![](/profiles/img/114477-384-s.jpg)
Hey buddy, you not being able to afford the large scales doesn't make them not mainstream. Airfix will sell an order of magnitude more 1:24 Spits than Border will sell of this kit. Borders biggest claim to fame is screwing up the Lancaster, so I'm not surprised they'd screw up their Heinkel. just saying 😉
18 January, 23:47
![](/profiles/img/15655-827-s.jpg)
Aww, I'm sorry! Did I hit a nerve there? After double checking my own stash, I don't think money is my (....or the general) issue here.
At the end of the day it boils down to, "do you want the product a company is putting on the market or not". If the answer is yes, go ahead and have fun with it. If not, just move on and don't throw a tantrum because other people like different things than you do.
19 January, 03:26
![](/profiles/img/user-s.jpg)
OMG, people! If anyone wants to do dioramas with ARMOUR and planes, Border releasing 1:35 He111's, Stuka's, BF-109's is a dream come true!!
20 January, 00:15
![](/profiles/img/37311-118-s.jpg)
Its time to get rid of the odd ball 1/32 and go with 1/35 for aircraft. If I'm not mistaken Tamiya is the one that screwed up the scales many many years ago. I will be sure to add one to my stash.
21 January, 18:31
![](/profiles/img/13769-795-s.jpg)
I love it. There are plenty of softskins that could be placed in an airfield diorama. There are more 1/35 vehicles and accessories available than 1/32 scale. I have the Border Stuka and Tristar Fieseler Storch. I have the 1/35 Bronco Rosie the Rocketeer kit also. Way to go Border.
