Completed a few years ago
1. Primer then lightly sanded smooth with Tamiya 3000 sanding sponge.
2. Coat of Mr Color Ueno black GX2, with a final coat of pure Mr leveling thinner to achieve the high black shine.
3. Few hours after the GX2 applied AK Xtreme polished aluminium (avoiding finger prints/dust etc.)
4. In my opinion it is best to seal the Polished Aluminium with Aquagloss, Gauzy or MRP-gloss as through handling the polished Alu May scuff through the build. (But not necessary). Scuffs can however be repaired with some metal powders like Mig polished aluminium powder.
5. Picked out and masked a few panels with various shades of AK en Alclad.
6. Sealed everything at the time with Mr Color GX 100 gloss. (although I stopped using this on high shine polished aluminium coats to avoid re-activation of the polished aluminium - see also mr Color website for recommendations on metal coats) Nowadays I would seal it with Aquagloss or light coats of MRP gloss.
7. Applied a Flory products waterbased wash of dark brown dirt
That is pretty much the recipe I use for all my NMF subjects, although recently I started using MRP Super Silver and Mr Color super fine/chrome silver II. Hope this answers your question. Rgds, Rob

Yesterday the A.90 Orlyonok thundered in front, here are a couple of pictures of this event! 🙂 I added a few things to the kit, such as the prominent framework in front of the cockpit, which I built "on sight" with suitable wire. I haven't been able to find out what it's for - aerials, windscreen wipers/cleaning? - but I know that it contributes quite prominently to the appearance. I also added the various aerials on the fuselage and engine.
Thanks again for the hint about the 'ironed' water behind and under the engine, that was an important tip and came in time, thanks to Robert!

Thank you very much mates! In fact, the A.90 'floats' on two fine metal rods; I apologise for taking the freedom to wipe them away with the image processing.

Thankss Robert! This model occured to be quite problematic. Especially the tracka - they do not fit the front wheels and need adjustement (it will be visible on one of the photos).

Either you are too kind to me, Bruce, or too harsh to yourself 😉 Your models are much better than mine. Thanks, nevertheless 🙂

Au contraire, Robert. I have yet to try my hand at a bare metal finish, or indeed add fine antennae or rigging. I've only tried a few PE extras, and still only add paint by brush. The finishes you achieve are superb and thus inspirational, and there is never a hint of dodgy filler anywhere 👍👍👍

A bit of wash filter or pinwash here and there would already lift them up but actually they are not bad at all

So many nice builds not to belong to such album 😛 (Ford, Arado, DC-9, Dewoitine, Chaika, Delta, Optica and Saro... where the heck did you find the latter one?! 😮 )
And Eclipse doesn't seem to be such a past build either 😛

@Lukasz - there are many different reasons to archivize the photos. I am sure you're smart enough to figure it out by yourself (hint - the printed modellers' magazine in the descriptions of some models presented 😉 )

That's a very original collection! I like it very much.
The ones I like the most are the Ford Flivver, AG-4 Crusader, Bristol Racer and of course the Edgley Optica. Awesome pieces! 👏👏👏

Thank you very much, Philippe and Bughunter. @Philippe - I purchased it when I visited Le Bourget museum for a very first time - they sold AeroBase kits at that time... I heard somewhere that AeroBase kits are now to be purchased in some shop in the underground gallery adjacent to the entrance to the Louvre Museum...
@Bughunter - I plan to build the famous Lilienthal biplane glider soon from the same manufacturer 😉 Its span is about 4 cm actually...so not very small 😉

Long ago I found some Aerobase kits in museums shops in Germany, but I bought only bigger ones. The 1894 glider in 1:48 is still in my stash 😉
