Thanks mate! The worst part of it all is that I'm plannin' to do it all over again on a couple of Viggens. I must clearly be insane...

Nice work - I did this once on the old 1:48 ESCI Viggen. It is really a lot of fun at the end when you take off all of the tape and see how it came out!

I would never have believed that was a 1/72nd kit let alone the old Matchbox kit. Great work, VERY impressive paint!

Ah, absolutely beautiful job on a difficult kit. The splinter camo turned out excellent. I have a few Viggens in my stash but I am too afraid to start.

Thanks mates! I cut my own masking for the splinter camo. I don't even think that I was aware of pre-cut masks back then.

Thanks mates! Sorry Casey but I don't remember how long it took but it looks worse than it was. I really didn't feel like a chore when I did it.

I like that you actually made the pattern as correct as you can in this small scale! It was applied with super precision on the real planes from the factory - there wasn't one single millimeter of difference between different airframes. Actually, the pattern was designed by a team of graphic artists to create an impression of the Swedish landscape from above, but using only four colors.

The goal with my building is the journey itself and not the finished product. So having fun is what it's all about for me.
I had some not so good photocopies that I used as a template for the pattern.

I looooove the old Matchbox kits....and I got a few of them in my storage.Just for nostalgia.
Mate.....you did a fantastic job on the Viggen. It is one of my favourite planes ....think because of the awesome Box Kit artwork .As a child the box art on the Matchbox kits always left me with my jaw dropped open. 😪

absolutely agree with you Urban. it is like adding interior details that will never be seen once the model is closed. "why do you do that?" because i have fun doing it 🙂

Thanks mates!
Yes, Matchbox have a special place in my heart as I grew up with them. And sorry to the Roy Cross camp but Roy Huxley is the master of the box art all time!
Adding invisible interior just because is my thing, absolutely love it and as long as I know it's there I'm happy.
